The Eighth Naval District included Alabama, Tennessee, Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and the western panhandle of Florida. The photographs for the Eighth Naval District were in three binders.

The photo scanned from the Cochrane album for Brown S.B. turned out to be of Houston S.B. (see below) and this smaller magazine photo taken in July 1945 was substituted. Brown S.B. was renamed Todd Houston S.B. when it was bought by Todd in 1949.

Todd's repair yard at Mobile was leased in 1936 to the nearby Alabama D.D. & S.B. Co. and stripped. It was not in Cochrane's final binders.
