Class. This type had hull dimensions similar to the earlier
Victorieuse and
Espérance but dispensed with the light spardeck carried by those ships. Instead it had an open battery with a small forecastle and poop. The height of its battery above the water was 5ft 11in. The plans were completed by Leroux in 4.27.
Triomphante, originally named
Guadeloupe, was renamed 3.8.31.
Disposal. Triomphante became a headquarters hulk, was renamed
Dragon in 1869, and was BU 1879.
