Allenhurst, the second ship of Design 1008 (EFC Hull 2038), being launched on 7 December 1918 by the Allen Shipbuilding Co. of Seattle. Despite some superstructure being up she had probably already been designated for conversion to a Design 1115 barge along with her two later sisters. The last of these, Atasi (Hull 2189), was suspended on 23 November 1918 and cancelled on 25 March 1919. Upon delivery in February and April 1919 Allenhurst and Ahmik (Hull 2188) were immediately laid up in the Lake Union Storage Yard in Seattle and never served.
