Class Notes:
FY 1943 (IX-133, 135), 1944 (IX-186). This yard built its first full-sized tanker, the 438-foot FREDERICK R. KELLOGG, in 1917 and then received orders from the EFC for 12 more 438 foot tankers to the same or a similar design which the EFC designated its Design 1041. The yard completed the EFC ships in 1919-21 and then built five more 438-foot tankers including the three listed here between May 1920 and October 1921.

-- IX-133, 135: On 12 Oct 43 the Auxiliary Vessels Board recommended that 15 old tankers be acquired for use as floating storage at advanced bases. See the IX-132 class for full details on this directive, which covered IX 131-145.
